Service Manual

The following service instructions are recommended to be carried out each time the Media Cartridge is replaced in your APS-400 sensor. Feel free to contact us via email to support@pollensense.com if you have any questions.

Needed Materials:

dusterswab

  • Canned Air for cleaning electronics

  • Cotton Swab/Q-tip or similar

Instructions:

1. Remove the sensor from power.

2. Open the lid of the sensor and remove the Media Cartridge.

3. With the Canned Air, remove any dust buildup within the sensor. Focus on areas where particles travel the most, such as the Exhaust Fan and Intake Nozzle.

4. Locate the Tape Proximity Sensor, and wipe it with the Cotton Swab in the area shown below. This helps the sensor maintain an accurate reading of the position of the tape while sampling.

5. With the Cotton Swab, clean the inside and outside of the Intake Nozzle and its surrounding area. If particulate buildup is not coming loose, you may apply Isopropyl Alcohol to the Cotton Swab to help dissolve the buildup. Be sure to completely dry off the Intake Nozzle after cleaning.

6. Once the sensor has been cleaned, replace the Media Cartridge. Please review the information found at Media Cartridge Installation Guide to properly replace the Media Cartridge and update its condition within the Particle Sense app.

7. Reconnect the sensor to power and wait for it to begin sampling again. The sensor will have stored all of its data to our Portal, so you will not need to reassign it to its Site or reconnect it to its network.
